Surprise

I'm often blown away by the human ability to simplify the crazy, confusing, complex mess we call life into an understandable simple notion. Life's the hardest effortless experience we will ever face. Wrap your head around that one right?

I've been reading a lot lately, both leisurely and in an effort to study for finals, and the interesting thing that I have found is that, no matter the person, attachments and bonding are vital in order to succeed as a functional individual in our society.

Theories of deviance and crime claim that when positive social attachments are not present, people try to fill their empty voids by means that are not widely accepted. Let's back things up a tick. People in all honesty act out because they lack love? I spend a great deal of time denying and challenging dominant ideologies. As much as I hate to say it, it appears undoubtable that love is truly essential in this life.

Aside from academics, this theory is also reinforced through those who believe in energies and karma, if you will. It does make sense. You get what you give. If you give love your receive love, if you transpire negativity, you will receive negativity. You get the idea. Moral of the story? For me, I need to always remember that good things will come if you believe they can. Ask and you shall receive. Ahhh, life.
